VinUni – The first elite university in Vietnam designed landscape by West Green Design

On January 15, 2020, VinhUni University – the first quintessential and private non-profit university in Vietnam was officially inaugurated in Vinhomes Ocean Park (Gia Lam, Hanoi).

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Education Phung Xuan Nha and Chairman of Vingroup Pham Nhat Vuong cut a ribbon to inaugurate the most modern private university in Vietnam.

VinUni has been approved by the Prime Minister to establish VinUni University (VinUni) on December 17, 2019 with a total investment of VND 6,500 billion from Vingroup. Of which, VND 3,500 billion is spent on infrastructure construction and 3,000 billion VND for grants of talented scholarships, financial support for students as well as operating losses for the first 10 years. VinUni follows the elite university model, training and developing talents for the future.

 

After 14 months of rapid deployment, VinUni has completed on a total area of 23 hectares, the system of facilities is built according to the 5-star QS standards of Quacquarelli Symonds – the world’s leading educational testing organization. The school architecture, landscape and interior are all undertaken by the world’s leading prestigious design companies, Aecom (USA); Westgreen (Canada) and HBA Company (USA), in order to provide an inspiring, creative learning environment, “dare to think big” for students, lecturers and researchers.
The entire school has Gothic architecture, characterized by vertical axes reminiscent of Roman stone columns pointing straight to the sky to send the message “The school of light of knowledge”. The symbol of the sun that spreads the light of knowledge is placed on top of the tower with the height of 108m. In particular, VinUni owns a green, smart and energy-efficient campus with 86% of the rate is greenery, many overhead gardens and the entire 1,000 m2 on the roof of the experimental building is a solar panel.
